Japan Airlines Corporation (JAL), founded in 1951 as Japan Airlines, is an airline of Japan. It boasts being Asia’s largest airline operator and has its main base in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. Japan Airlines operates both scheduled and non-scheduled domestic and international services. The main bases of this airline are Tokyo International Airport and Narita International Airport.

About Japan Airlines
There are about 18,000 employees working in Japan Airlines. Two airline companies are functioned under the Japan Airlines Corporation brand: the Japan Airlines Domestic and Japan Airlines International. JAL International looked after both international and trunk domestic flights, while Japan Airlines Domestic had key responsibility for operating JAL’s large network of domestic flights flying within Japan.
On October 1, 2006, both Japan Airlines Domestic and Japan Airlines International merged together into a single brand, the Japan Airlines International.
JAL Corporation also owns seven smaller airlines that supplement or feed mainline JAL flights:

JAL boasts possessing the largest fleet of Boeing 747s in the whole world that comprises approximately 64 (till April 2007). JAL that flies to Mexico City via Vancouver and Sao Paulo via New York City, is one of the five airlines in Asia flying to Latin America.
